Migration to NEW FORUM

Update (4. April 2016)

The forum migration has started and the new forum is up already. You can access it via the "Forums" link on our homepage.
The porting over of posts, users and rank has worked pretty well.

The only thing you need to do is reset your password logging into the new forums.

Go over and try them out. :)
Cheers!

Hey guys & gals!

The days of this phpBB3-based forum are numbered. As one of the most common forum platforms it is targeted frequently by spammers
and is becoming too onerous on our fantastic mod team to keep them at bay. We will soon be migrating to a more modern forum platform
that not only solves that problem but also offers plenty more features and should be a better experience all round.

To make the migration possible, for the time being new User Registration has been disabled.

Contact us for Support

We are most likely going to migrate to the forum platform called Discourse. It supports importing all users, threads and posts from phpBB3.
The old forums will be kept as read-only for posterity. Depending on the success of the import, we will either do a full migration or a partial one.

As the phpBB3 user system is the back end of the standalone launcher as well, the current forum will simply be set to read only.
The launcher will be cleaned up to allow easier reset/recovery of accounts, which probably should have been done a long time ago...

We will also have a transition period of no new threads, but replies are still allowed. Allowing competitions to be finished, rather than forcing
people to jump ship mid competition. We're looking forward to getting things rolling on the new platform!

Cheers!

What will happen to old threads on this forum? Will they be archived?

Can't wait for the changeover, even if it means starting a new company thread from scratch again! Heck, starting new from scratch just means cleaning the house (for me anyways). :P

I do hope that they are swiched, or (though this is a long shot) they PM the creators of each thread asking which ones to move.

Maybe, Just god damn maybe.
Salt is what 95% of children are made from, and generally 72% of forum users.

Also 82% of statistics are made up.

Nevermind, apparently I can't read. I just want to make sure the wealth of knowledge that's here isn't lost :)

Re: Migration to NEW FORUM

Some Questions:
    1. Will this forum be completely deleted?
    2. Will the threads from this forum be moved over? What will happen to R2D then? :P
    3. Will we have to sign up on the new forum when the conversion happens?
    4. What will the new forum layout look like? Will all the threads be in the same place and will the new forum look exactly like this one or different?
