Re: New Car Shaders, Door Handles and Wing Mirrors

Very nice, the car models get more and more details and the shaders improved too. Keep up the good work!

What I'm really curious about is how older ('50s-'60s) cars will look like in automation. I think there will be even more possibilities to make an old car unique. For example the bumpers could be separate fixtures like the headlights and grilles now - as bumpers weren't that integrated into that shape of the car-body as they are now, and they showed a big variety in shapes and sizes.

Customizable chrome trims on the side of the car, separate indicator lights to make its "face" unique, optional two or three-color paintjob - I think designing old cars could be even more fun. Cars weren't so similar back than, they were more individual.

Just wonderful, congratulations!

Just a question comes to my mind: does tyre size affect performance or production cost of the car?

Excellent additions and polish :)

Tire size will affect performance, yes. It is important both for braking and acceleration / grip, as well as off-road ability. If weight will be considered I don't know, but I certainly hope so. And if any of those things are not implemented we will have to lock up zeussy in a room and play Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys all day long until he yields and implements it. xD

Yeah, we'll see how we go with the 60s cars, they may be a bit harder to get looking right, but we'll do our best :)

Re: New Car Shaders, Door Handles and Wing Mirrors

So, we can't move door handles? Maybe that's better, because now we can put door handles similar to those in Citroen AX and Renault Twingo. Or door handles hidden in pillars... That leads me to the two questions.

1) Will we be able to choose door handles on front and rear doors indepedently?

2) On a Twingo, you can see, that on the front, there are bumps for headlights. (So headlights are affecting the body, but my question is not about this) If you ever made a Twingo-style body model (FSM Beskid rip-off btw), could you make the player able to modify the shape of these bumps, so I can make a city Porsche?

RX8 style rear doors.
Will the doors open? I want koenigsegg style :P

--edit--
I had the idea of a Porsche 611 sometime ago. like a 356 but the size of a DS3.
I completely forgot about it

Re: New Car Shaders, Door Handles and Wing Mirrors

They won't open, because it would force devs to make interiors for every car, and that would consume very high amounts of time.

BTW: Maybe you should make a simplyfied version of your 611 (just the body shell) and make it a mod for Automation?
