Designer Layout Changes

Been a while since we did this, anyway, I have been sorting out the Designer layouts, making them a bit more pretty and keeping the design language, and layouts common to all the Designers.

Re: Designer Layout Changes

Looks good. My only comment would be you might want to look at adding a little bit more colour to it, as it's very grey.

I have a couple of points/questions/observations (although only one is on the actual layout):

The Engine designer has the engine centred on the screen, whereas the Platform and Model designer have the image more centred on the "blank space" to the side. It would look better if the Engine was over to the side as well, rather than part under the text.

Is there a reason why you skipped 3 valves per cylinder?

Are you going to be differentiating between variable valve timing using 2 cam profiles and continuously variable valve timing?

Re: Designer Layout Changes

There isn't 3 valve because its got DOHC selected, and you don't really get DOHC 3 valve.

VVL is 2 profiles, VVT Is variable valve timing

Re: Designer Layout Changes

Also nothing to do with the layout itself (maybe a little). But if you're building an offroader where would you select the additional gearbox?

Re: Designer Layout Changes

Most likely you will make a 4WD gearbox (gearbox+tranfserbox) and selected it from the gearbox selection.

Re: Designer Layout Changes

will there be real time shadows?

i was trying to work out what was looking a little off on the screenshots.
then realised it was the lack of shadows.

i know these are just dev builds, but figured i'd ask?

Re: Designer Layout Changes

If you look at the engine designer image you can see that there are shadows, also you can turn shadows on/off in options.

Re: Designer Layout Changes

There are shadows, but the lighting needs lots of work - the engine designer is the best lit one so far

Woah. Looks a lot better than what I've seen in the previous video.
