I hope it will be possible to modify more important dimensions of the car. Like wheelbase, angle of the winshield and the rear window. Relative size of the engine bay, passanger cell and the trunk maybe? Front and rear overhang, ground clearance?

It's good to see that the game gets better and better.

What kind of car is the model in the video based on? Golf Mk1? Or an old Fiesta? :D

Thanks! :)

Sadly its pretty hard to modify the major dimensions of the car without ruining the way it looks (getting it to bend and shape evenly)

Wheelbase will be a function of what chassis size you choose (as there are really only about 6 different sizes of car in reality)

Angle of rear window and winshield we'll let you change if it looks ok, but it doesn't work quite right on all body shapes.

Size of engine bay you can change a bit, but large changes of proportions will need you to pick a different base body.

What can be changed using the "handles" will be different on each body, any control we can make that doesn't look horrible, we'll let you have.

To be honest, its actually harder to make the controls work nicely on a square 80s car, as a lot of them will put kinks in its very straight lines and it looks horrible, on a smoother more 90s car you could have more control without breaking anything!

Its mostly MK1 Golf based, with a bit of Mk2 Golf, a bit of Lancia Delta and a bit of what 80s cars look like from memory :P

Looks absaloutley fantastic guys! Keep em coming!
Will there be 2 or 3 "eras" of each car type? (hatch, saloon etc) to pick from and form? And also, will it be possible to add more than one set of lights for a quad lamp setup? (Ford capri, BMW E30 3 series etc style)

There will be different eras of car types of course - our example here being an 80s one.

Re: Car Designer Demo

The game starts in 1945, so some separate-fender design may be featured. Not exactly like the Bugatti you linked, but something with fatter fenders, more aerodynamic.

Re: Car Designer Demo

So a couple of starter cars could be like VW Beetle, Austin 8 and Cadillac 61?
