Fieros! (lots of pics sorry!)

introducing the Fiero.. General motors first mid-engine sports car and an innovator at the time of production. I used to own one of these little rides.. and find them very fascinating.. Powered by a 2.5L 4cy or a 2.8 6cyl, these were not the fastest or the most reliable.. or the best on gas... lol but something about them just draws me in. Not to say that they cant be fast.. With a new powertain of course: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBFhcdPa ... A&index=10

My old 88 "notchback":

Hmm, never actually seen this car before, pretty interesting.
Probably wasn't sold in Europe, shame :/

Seen some secondhand fiero's here in holland.
Even went to look at one, but they're overpriced, badly made, outdated and i couldn't find one with a manual gearbox.
Bought myself a hyundai coupe gen3.5 instead.
if you still want to look one up you should go to gaspedaal.nl or autoscout24.nl you can find some there

EDIT:

Here http://www.autotrack.nl/tweedehands/pon ... ro/6587274
took my seconds to find

Cannot verify how widespread they are... but i remember a few russians on a fiero forum that owned a few.
You are completely right Whimpie. This car was pretty badly made.. haha. However, they have a cult following.. and make rather fun toys! But not a good daily driver by any means..

They were also incredibly safe for their time. It had a body on spaceframe design which actually carried all the load, allowing much of the body to be made from fiberglass. The only thing safer than it at the time was a Volvo 740.
