It's meant as a 'safety' feature to stop you revving it way up and dropping it into Drive. If you leave it it Park you should be able to rev it all out ;) .

An extreme close-up dash shot and 2CV startup. More for the noise than anything else, I was just testing some carb adjustments.

Here it is, my contribution to the startup and revving.

4.0L V8 from the exhaust, the camera could have been placed to close too the car and garage, a bit of echo from my current laptop speakers. Hopefully it'll be better on proper speakers, Haven't had time to listen to it on my desktop yet.

By the way, the warm up period lasts until 1:50 of the video. This way, you can experience the warm up noises that I do when I start up the car. During the warm up period, the idle is a bit erratic and slowly drops RPM's. You can hear the coarse exhaust note until around the 1:50 mark when the noise noticeably changes. During the warm up process, you can feel the whole car vibrating and shaking, it feels nervous and jumpy. Then calms down.

Huh. Six months to the day after posting this, and I've got almost exactly 10,000 more miles on the clock. And I don't even drive it for work. Just commutes.

I'd also join the 4 banger corner, but what's even more depressing is that my Mazda isn't even running. I can do spin the back wheels on my bike and put V12 Audi sounds over it if you guys want.. :(
