My ex VAZ-2107 - the bricky car

This piece of junk is produced in Togliatti, Russian Federation. In other countries it may be known as Lada Riva, in Russia it called "Semyorka" ("The Seven"), "WannaBeMercedes" (for its luxury-style grill) or just "taz" (which means "washbowl").
2107 is farther evolution of 2101, and 2101 is a Russian version of old Fiat 124.

You know what? It is really sloooow, but in Russia lots of people driving it like a sportcar. Max speed i've ever reached on THIS - about 140 km/h. Sure, 2107 could go faster, but Russian roads and awful suspension make farther acceleration too scary.
This is not an usual 2107/Riva - there is Lada 4x4 engine, which producing 74 horsepower and about 120 Nm, hardly making 14s hundred time. But i don't give a damn - offroader's engine is very good at low-RPM range, so it's pretty comfortable to cruise in about 2500 RPM any gear.
Ah, talking about gearbox - i don't know what material it made of, but it's still in good condition after 7 years and 70 000 km of really hardcore usage, except 1st gear.
Here is specifications:
Engine - VAZ-21214 - 1,7L inline-4 (from Lada 4x4)
8-valve OHC
Chain camshaft drive
single-point injection
Gearbox - 5-speed RWD
Suspension - simple coil spring in front, trailing arm in back.
Weight - 1040 Kg
Carryweight - 400 Kg
Fuel consumption about 7-12 L per 100 Km
Dimensions - 4120mm X 1620mm X 1435mm, 2400mm wheelbase.

Your car made it on top gear :) twice as I recall, once in a British layland challenge and once when they had a custom tuner have a go at a racing lada a long time ago.

Junny, Avtovaz finished producing 2107 last year. I bought it in 2007 for about 5000 USD.
Nialloftara, hah, i've seen that monster Riva in "Top Gear" :)

How did you crash it? Doesnt this thing just roll through a 10 meter thick concrete wall without a scratch anyway?

This thing is not as strong as it looks like. Maybe the old 2107 (produced in USSR) could survive, but since 00's material quality has become awful, so the engine just fell of the car. No way to repair.

These "things that make engine not fall out of car" (i don't know how to translate its technical name) were just broken when i crashed into car that was in front of me.
I'm sorry, i'm not good at English.

They are called "Engine mounts" if I am not mistaken.
