Nissan 180sx Type-x now with added 200sx K's Luxury

Not normally one to post about my car anywhere as 90's Nissans are pretty much the cockroach/rat of the sports car scene but I haven't seen one here.

It is a 1996 Jdm model 180sx which I have owned for 4 years as my daily driver, weekend and part time track hack. These cars are truly up there for the top 10 bang for buck sports cars and has the looks to boot considering age and sub $10k price. The car has been incredibly reliable thanks to a stock engine but will blow your mind when you find some corners as I have focused entirely on handling set up. No illest/stance or hp bragging for me its all about practicality and driving.

Mods: Engine is stock with a retune ecu. Modification laws are draconian here, car is also my daily and has served me faultlessly no matter what punishment its put through.
Big intercooler for those hot Aussie days, a little lag is worth piece of mind.
Nismo 3 inch cat back with another brand 3 inch dump
Turbosmart boost controller set to 13psi(stock turbo maximum)
Gktech (Aus brand) full adjustable suspension (camber, castor, hicas, toe, strut and traction)
Ats mechanical 1.5 way diff
5x114.3 conversion including brake caliper, pads, rotors to higher spec
18 Rays Volk SE37k: discontinued and the lightest forged wheel rays have made.

The body of the car is 100% factory look, if I put the original 15 inch wheels on the car it is identical to the catalogue :) with the only addition being a small roof lip.

Race car twins

Edit: new picture because I was bored at work.

Re: My Nissan 180sx Type-X

Thanks. I recently got some Yokohama AVS 5 wheels which i have always liked. Unfortunately i think they would look better if the car was lower and i had bigger brakes to fill the space.
Image

No plans atm for lower and bigger brakes as both are defects under my states very tight modification laws

Re: Nissan 180sx Type-X Sunday "Drive"er + pics/story

Been a while since I updated my thread. I'd would like to share with you all some pictures I took of my monthly Sunday "Drive" Ii like to read about other peoples driving experiences and share my own :D .

Firstly my car was in need of new rubber. In Australia we are very lucky to have everything we do but there are so many roads and so few people that the general state of any road is much worse than poorer country's( generalisation not fact ;) ), therefore if you drive seriously you need proper rubber or you will no doubt crash and be found weeks later when someone comes along :o .

For the rears i went with Bridgestone Re002, a great mix of cold and hot grip, good in wet and damp conditions and most importantly controllable past the point of grip. Can easily maintain control when hitting mid corner bumps at speed on rough surfaces and wag the tail on smooth stuff.
Image

Fronts I went with Federal 595 RSR. Grip Grip Grip. cold and wet no problem, when warm they will tear your face off  .
Image

Now we needed a route. We have a lot of options here and a mixture of foothills and country roads, considering my friend would be joining me in his Evo I went with a favourite circuit of mine that suits both our locations.
Image

Friends Freshly imported 66, 000 km Evolution 8 MR. Stock as a rock running Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.
Image

Going counter clockwise around our route with Mt Glorious first. Cold and damp with loose leaves through this Rainforest section @7am. A great way to get the adrenalin pumping with tail action.
Image

Headed back down and North to Mt Mee. Tight sweeping bends then up to this ridge line with views North to the "Glass House Mountains". Samsung sucks for photos but I will be getting up there at a later date :)
Image

Cruised all the way along the country roads around the top of Lake Somerset. Lovely Day
Image

It's all about the fancy pattern on the tyre right??
Image

Somerset Lake
Image

In the foot hills town of Esk, the central point to most peoples drives in this part of the state.
Image

Pulled up in front of the main Dam wall, at this point my friend and I parted ways.
Image

At some point just coming our of the country roads and onto the highway home, the car throws up the white flag and begs for mercy unless I wanted the exhaust to turn to molten slag. 327Kms well driven :D
Image

I hope you all liked my Sunday drive. I hope I inspire some more people to share their sunday drives in whatever shape and form.

Awesome man!
And if you thought the tuning laws are draconian there you haven't even seen Belgian bureaucracy yet :P

No suspension tuning allowed, unless certified by car manufacturer. Exhaust diameter must be same as stock, any engine tuning is forbidden (although hidden chipping is done here), rims must have same width as the stock ones, etc, etc
All is checked on an obligatory yearly legal checkup (usually for cars older than 5 years).
Some light bodykit tuning and ricers are allowed though.

"So you wanted to import a R34 to Belgium? Good luck with that 1 year of paperwork" (not even kidding)

Sorry for the rant, but these laws are one of the big reasons why I want to leave Belgium.

Belgium aint a pain in the ass. The only time they check your car is during the yearly checkup. I got friends living there, 1 week before the checkup the completely break down their car back to stock, get it checked and then build up their car again.

In The Netherlands its a proper b*tch as the police just stops you and if there is too much, they confiscate your car.

Well that's one way to do it

I thought light engine swaps and light engine tuning was allowed in the Netherlands though? Or am I mistaken about this ? :?
