My daily and the weekend toy - warning, get coffee. And food

...cause these pair are long reads!

Sorry about linking to another forum - I know it's a pain and it puts people off - but the threads are pretty long and picture heavy, so I'd rather not fill this thread up, but if you have any questions or comments, fire away and I'll answer them in here.

My daily driver, it's a tiny little 1.4 engine but has a shedload of shiny parts made for it:

And the weekend racer, spaceframed buggy with a Mazda rotary engine in the back to compete in Safari's:

I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy building/breaking them!

Haha, cheers.
Cheap, ugly and built out of scrapyard bits but it puts a hell of a grin on the front of my head :D

They do, can't seem to get rid of this mid-range misfire at the moment though so it's learning new swear words...

^I'll pass on that!

The diff is a Renault UN5 unit - generally regarded as pretty damned strong - but I think all the impacts are making it flex and fatiguing it. :(

Still, does mean we can take the gears down the road to HPC to have some alterations made for next year....

Re: My daily and the weekend toy - warning, get coffee. And

Well, good news, local firm can make the gears - :D - somewhere between £600-800 for them.

Bad news, the money budgeted for those has had to go for some new tyres and brake pads :(

Re: My daily and the weekend toy - warning, get coffee. And

Might have accidentally bought the gears instead of the brake pads, whoops.
One makes you go faster, one makes you go slower, had to make a choice :D

Simulation says it should drop the 0-110mph time from 42 seconds to a rather more respectable 19s....
