It is possible that Inspector Gadget's car may have been somwhat inspired by it, but I doubt it. The car in the comics is from the 70s while the Inspector gadget cartoon is from the 80s and it looks more like the 1982 Toyota Supra L or P type, a Delorean or Lotus Esprit.
