By any chance, can we not do it on Saturday? In the UAE, the weekend is Friday and Saturday so I have school on Sunday, and I don't fancy staying up til like 2am seeing as I have exams all week.

No we can't, really, Saturday is the only day that will work. If we do it Friday, it will be at like 4am the next day your time, as all of the Americans will still be at work if we do it earlier. Obviously we can't do it Sunday since the Europeans won't want to stay up late the night before the get back to work or school. Doing the race earlier on Saturday night puts it smack dab in the middle of the Europeans' dinner, and some of the west coast Americans will still be sleeping. And maybe I will be sleeping as well. The time we have is a comfortable sweet spot, and maybe you can complain to the asswanklers running your corrupt government about how your weekends are retart. Gotta be proactive about things.

Re: Automation Live for Speed Race - The Rematch

Same as last time, I'll try to turn up, this time with something more than a stock setup ;).

EDIT: this time I shall arrive with a teammate :).

Re: Automation Live for Speed Race - The Rematch

^i just opened the lfs forum and found this thread
https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/31010- ... all-guide-

a .zip file is attached on the post. which is a 'good' easy-to-drive setup of almost all cars. it might be a good setup start :)

that is if i actually can get it to load the setup

Doesn't it say that those setups are outdated.

BTW, This weekend I'm home so I can drive with my old wheel. way better than the keyboard.

It's not really a big advantage, but it's more enjoyable.

Since Team Inferno's 'setupfield' has gone to a better place there is no such thing as a up-to-date setup source :(.

Re: Automation Live for Speed Race - The Rematch

Nice race, although a tad sad we had so many mechanical issues.

Sorry being pissed off after I was taken out on the first start, I thought it was a L1 divebomb.

Talking about divebombs, just a few etiquette things.

1st: Don't try to pass by overbraking way too late on the inside. If the other guy doesn't see you it's going to cause an incident and you will be going in the corner too fast, causing loads of entry understeer and killing your exit speed which will often let the guy you just passed pass you again very easily.

2nd: When you are being lapped, please try to facilitate the pass. I am not one of those who thinks you should just give up the racing line and move out of the way, but braking a tad early at the end of a straight helps a lot and will not cause you to loose much time.

The main problem when being lapped is that it usually means you are a few seconds slower than the guy behind every lap, so obviously he might get frustrated, which might result in him doing dumb things to get past that might send one of you (or both) in the wall.

Don't forget that this isn't random pub racing. You are going to be racing with pretty much the exact same people everytime, so getting a reputation as a divebomber or as a guy who doesn't let the leaders through is a bit easier.

Re: Automation Live for Speed Race - The Rematch

nice event today.
and
i also want to say sorry, i was kinda way too aggresive today........

although i wouldn't divebomb anyone unless it was one of the 'fun for all' event. (or the one i thought was, maybe i was wrong? :P)
