That picture is absolutely shit. Tiny, shows jackshit. Could be a Land Rover defender or a Pontiac whatever for all I know.

Tatra 613. And I think the picture is actually not that bad. If you know the car, you can recognize it pretty easily.

Re: The "guess-what-car" game

Thank you. Finally someone with an eye for details and extensive car knowledge. Honestly how many cars are sporting that look besides a few BMWs, this and probably some JDM bollocks?

Re: The "guess-what-car" game

I do think that the picture is very vague. I too would only have guessed a Land Rover. Also, just because you're not familiar with Tatra from a tiny snippet of a headlight doesn't necessarily mean that you're not knowledgeable about cars.

You hit the nail in the head, Evan.

@Awildgermanappears, I shall start posting very cropped photos of very obscure domestic market cars that 99.95% of the people on this forum have never seen or heard of, and I will also give awfully vague, useless hints too. Let's see how happy you'll be with that, Mr. Automotive Encyclopaedia.

Top Left. "Search this Topic".
The pic was in my opinion pretty shite. It has nothing to do with cars knowledge or paying attention to details because there were MANY MANY cars with round headlight and square indicators. And having to dig around the internet through every car brand and then through every model is not fun at all.

Also... its a Tatra 613-3 or 613 K - the normal 613 looks a bit different ;)

Re: The "guess-what-car" game

Yeesh did nobody pay attention to the ribbed indicator lense? That detail should have given at least a tiny indicator of what to look for when researching. IMO it was hardly any worse than the roofline of a Fiat 132, which was incidentally also found on numerous european cars of the 1960s and 70s which were only distinguishable by the shape of the trim piece on the C-pillar. I apologize for being too demanding and expecting people to pay an unusually high level of attention to tiny details that most would have ignored. I promise the next one will be easier. Much easier.

Re: The "guess-what-car" game

Ribbed indicator lens? Like all 70s cars? Very specific indeed, you're right.

Now, where is turboJ so we can get this over with and keep the game rolling.

Re: The "guess-what-car" game

I will post something soon.

As for the shitty picture; I needed exactly 2 seconds to recognize the car. But I wonder how this 100% unfruitful argument just started here.
Some people know some cars, simple as that. While I do admit that I in fact do have extensive knowledge of European cars, that doesn't mean
I would recognize some of the rarer American or Japanese cars for example, even by resorting to searching. There are many knowledgeable people
here, but everyone has a speciality and '80s European stuff is mine.

Also... its a Tatra 613-3 or 613 K - the normal 613 looks a bit different
I know bro. But I believe those are still all 613s, are they not?

I will now go find something interesting to post so we can stop the pointless bickering ;)

EDIT. Here it is. Again I don't know if this is super easy or super hard. So what car does the purple part fit?

Re: The "guess-what-car" game

Normally I'm the one making pictures that are too small. But this time I have to agree with Leo and other people. If you have to guess by the fact that it's the only car with round sealed beam headlamps and ribbed indicators that's never been sold in America, it's pretty bad. I know it's hard to strike a balance between a car that can be guess in seconds and car that will challenge people. But please, the point of this game is fun. And not for bragging about how you're the greatest player ever and everybody else who don't get it is just car illiterate. Keep it that way it meant to be, eh? Please? Don't let it get worse than it already was.

Now move along. More challenges to come!
