Re: Computer specs

I've got an Acer Aspire laptop specs:
Intel Core i5 2nd gen. 2.4ghz dual-core with hyperthreading
Nvidia Geforce gt540m 1gb ddr3
8gb DDR3 RAM
500gb HDD (only 5400 rpm :P)
Windows 7 Home.
It's a great machine, especially if you're on a budget like me :D
Runs Automation great, but tends to get a bit hot with all games.

System HDD.......OCZ MLC Sata III 120gb SSD

I have the crossfire bridge hooked up but not currently running. I had crossfire running for a while but decided i wanted to run 4 monitors and the only way to do that was to disable crossfire so i could run my TV from the 2nd card.

It was a budget build when i started the build but i've been adding stuff (SSD, extra HDDs, upgrade video and ram) over time.

And here's the desk setup

Image

Far left is a standard 17" monitor for working on client computers. My two left monitors are Asus 23" LED, the right is a 22" Acer LCD. Above is a 32" VIZIO LED TV (used to watch netflix while i'm doing pc things), and to the right is a Haier (sp? some chinese company) 19" TV i use for my raspberry Pi. Its super messy and i realize that but its my own personal paradise in our home :)

Re: Computer specs

Update on my pc well this is going to be my new monster haha when I get around to building it

CPU: Intel Core i7-3970X Extreme Edition Hex Core Sandy Bridge-E (Thats a 6 core processor...right...Automation...you are going to get owned!)
GPU: EVGA 2GB GeForce GTX 680 NVIDIA Graphics Card
PSU: Corsair AX860i Digital 860W Full Modular Power Supply (Salvaged from Juno8)
MoBo: MSI Big Bang Xpower II (this monster motherboard will take I am not joking 128GB ram yes 128GB!!!!)
Memory: Corsair Memory Vengeance Jet Black Low Profile 32GB (x2 I hope depends on my Dad lol)
SDD: Corsair 128GB Force Series GS SSD
HDD: Western Digital 3TB Red x2 so 6TB total
HDD: Seagate 500GB x2 (from Juno8 so actual total will be 7.25TB but 1TB will be off Sata II and the other 6.25TB will be uber fast Sata III)
Case: Cooler Master Storm Trooper (its big it may be so big that I have to relocate it to my desk...I want this thing to run hard muhaha)
OS: Microsoft Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit

This computer may set me back well over £2000 but it will utterly destroy anything I put it up against...when I get the darn thing built!

Re: Computer specs

what the hell do you need that computer for?
i design loads of stuff on computers that are far less capable and have no problem rendering large buildings or interiors or any other stuff i make and any game runs on full detail with at least 25 fps
hard drives are not faster on sata 3 vs sata 2. actually they could work just as well with the old IDE interface

I believe he was laughing at you. You know, saying you need that hardware for Minecraft, and then mentioning nothing else can sound a bit...funny?

Re: Computer specs

Well, I'd share my laptop specs, but it can't run Automation, so I'll have to share my mother's specs, as that's what I run automation on.

4GB DDR3 RAM
1TB HDD0
1GB ATI Graphics (Runs automation on Quality 3 with SSAO on, but overheats and turns itself off, so I use Q1, No SSAO.)
2.7Ghz Quad Core 1st Gen 13 Processor.
EDIT: Windows 7 Home Premium

It's three years old, and it's actually leased to mum until Feb 26 or something, she's nearly paid it off, then she can buy it for $1.

Still, I'm buying myself a new Desktop, so we'll see how that runs.

Very similar to my configuration. My 1GB HD4650 can handle Q1 with SSAO, you can give it a try.
