You're asking a group of people from all over the world. Prices vary everywhere, as well as whats available.

Re: Off road car

Yeah a Suzuki Sierra could be good, or an old Landcruiser or Nissan Patrol, or even a Lada Niva :D

Re: Off road car

Lada Niva is a good off-roader for a very cheap price, and its not that cramped inside like the little Suzukis. Would be a good choice.

Re: Off road car

jeep YJ or a jeep tj

the yj is cheaper but if you need a lot of articulation for say rockcrawling the tj would be a better choice

Re: Off road car

Maybe it would be better if you let folks know what you have available there and they could give opinions on cars that are at least an option for you?

Re: Off road car

Seeing as you're from Sweden, I'd advice you too look no further than the Volvo Valp.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volvo_L3314
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volvo_C303

Can go litteraly anywhere, sturdy and easy to work on. Besides, there's tons of surplus ones overflowing the Swedish market if you dig a little. Just be carefull when going around bends or driving in inclines. The tip over faster than a Reliant Robin!

Something else to look at would be the old Suzuki SJ's. Much the same pros and cons as the Valp. If you find one's that not rusted to pieces, take good care of it. I have a suspicion they will become proper cult classics one day.

If you find any old G-wagons or Land Rovers for a low price, I'd advice you to avoid them. They're high maintenance, and will start costing you a lot more than the other options when you start using them.
