Suspicious User (ModeratorZeussy)

I've just received a PM from an account names ModeratorZeussy about "access to private section" of the forum, along with a link which I obviously didn't click on.

Just letting you guys know in case you also got a message. DONT CLICK THE LINK (but you should know that already). Please stop this beast from destroying our precious forum!

Yeah, I think everyone did.

Don't click on the link, the account is 100% fake.

Also, could I suggest adding a limitation to PMs? Requiring at least 5 posts or something before being able to use the PM system.

Can somebody take one for the team and click the link to see just what we're dealing with? :P

Haha jk I wouldn't recommend that.

I did talk to Killrob about this last time there was a PM spammer and he said he would limit PMs to people with 10 posts or more, but it's looks like he didn't get around to it or that it's broken.

I also wouldn't recommend just using a throwaway account, but also a throwaway computer since it may be hiding malware, or a Trojan or worm, or involve phishing. You don't want to use a computer you've ever input your birthday, name and/or bank account number or credit card statements.

I got the PM, the color of the username threw a red flag.

It links to a website called shareq - DOT - info - SLASH - u - SLASH - Eleven-OH-Eight, an anonymous (read hidden) website hosted in Moldova, which is either up to no good or darkweb active (which typically means up to no good).

This is the kind of thing that computer security experts have tools installed on their computers to do safely. I've got Firefox, NoScript, and RequestPolicy Continued. Not safe enough.

For the morbidly curious......here is where the link will take you. When you exit or click the information it sends you a similar congratulations image with your current internet location. It is highly recommended you do not try this. I know what I am doing. ;)

Possibly. No telling who those shady Gypsy types have their hooks into over there. :D
