I personally think it looks amazing.

Yeah it's pretty good looking that like, I was never too certain on the cabrio but that looks great. I'm really hoping all these new things will be at Goodwood, planning on going down again for the FoS.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks like a re-bodied Toyobaru GT86? To my eyes the two are remarkably similar.

The 2L seems to have lost 12 horses since the previous model... that's kind of disappointing... but she should still prove to be a fun drive; has the same 155hp as my Altima, but weighs about 500lbs less and has a 6-speed... so she'll be a little faster than what I'm used to anyway. Oh, and RWD of course.

Either way; I'm happy to see the light, cheap, RWD sports car class isn't completely dead yet. That class itself is at odds with the modern-day car as we know it. Fuel-efficency, emissions, safety, and electronic eyes staring at you watching your every move don't exactly fit the concept of a sports car. The class isn't exactly thriving either, with basically just two contenders. I'd wish for Nissan to raise a 240sx replacement to compete... but I don't see it happening... nor do I think it'll be a good car if it does happen. How I wish they produced that 240Z concept around the year 2000... that vehicle is the essence of my dream-car, powered by my beloved KA24DE somehow tuned to push out 200hp N/A. That concept was actually a fully-functioning car... pretty cool. Styling could use some work... but honestly I don't even care what she looks like; I want her anyway. Off-topic ahoy... sorry.

The flared out rear end and stuff is pretty similar, yeah. The roof comes off this though, that's the biggest difference like. I do wish they'd make a drop top GT86, but one of the reasons I prefer the 86 over the MX5 is that it feels more solid and a bit more serious business, so you'd maybe lose that.

Sales of the 86 and MX5 over here are doing pretty poorly, so I can almost understand why noone else has come up with something for that class in this market at least.

The proportions look a bit strange to me. I'll reserve judgement until I see it in person.

Full disclosure: I'll be attending the NY Auto Show Sunday April 3rd if anyone in the area is interested in going that day.

I think it looks good. Proportions, details, it works. The retractable roof is a questionable choice however, as it is both heavy and space-intensive. For me it would be better to have as light as possible MX5, just like the original.

Looks great. Still rather have an RX-8. I'm a sucker for a Wankel.

Make it a solid hardtop, and I'd buy it.

can't even buy it even if i had the money :(

it's even being imported to here. ANY sports car are rare sight. rarer than a high-end luxury class. i see more BMW 7series and more jaguar than an 86

50 more hp and 7k rpm redline or above and i would be sold, the car needs something other than an engine pulled out of the mazda 3, it needs an engine to really match the chassis.

Looks great though, even though i do prefer the fiats looks
