Ohh, interesting one, thanks for posting this will most probably be solved by us getting rid of the first fixture tab (model template tab), which not only seems to cause confusion among players but also confuses the game itself at times. xD

Will there be a way to load fixtures from other trims as a replacement for "restore to default fixtures", or is that an unnecessary feature? (I'm guessing it's unnecessary, but if other people use it a lot...)

No no, the functionality will stay! You still have the two buttons, so that you can "upload" your current design to the "invisible" template or apply that to a car with the "download" button. So people who used the system will still be able to do so, while a lot of confusion is eliminated.
