game won't read imported file

what the title says.
when i get an exported file, im just supposed to put the whole zip in the 'import' foldern to make the game read it, right?
this have never worked for me, so i've been 'importing' it manually.
extracting the zip, and putting the files in the 'cars' and 'engines' folders.

it's not really a game breaking bug, but sometimes it gets quite a bit annoying.

anything im doing wrong? or is it actually a known bug?

edit: so many grammar derp. mostly fixed.... i think

Re: importing file won't read

"When I get a car". You mean when you download a car from this forum.
If you're on Steam, put it in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Automation\Gamedata\
The folder will look something like this: [546216726_Not_a_Porsche]
If you aren't on Steam; get Steam!

you don't put it in the gamedata folder silly, it goes into the Import folder(He isn't talking about mods and if your on steam you should be using the workshop)
