Steam, Automation and corruption

Long story short, got a steam account to get Automation, but now skype and mechwarrior online wont let me login, I played 8 hours from last build and i do like it less than what it was before

to me that looks like the DiectX9 of the game did corrupt de version of directX of MWO

is it possible to get the game as stand alone instead of steam as I already uninstalled steam as steam is really not a desirable platform for games

Thanks

Re: Steam, Automation and corruption

Firstly, while it is possible that this caused your issue. That would only lead me to belive you may have a huge amount of versions of Microsoft Visual Basic overlapping, which can cause issues some times. Also as a MWO player as well, I can promise you both Steam, and Automation are not the cause of your woes.

What I would do is re-download the full DirectX SDK from Microsoft to ensure you have no issues with your Base DX install.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/179113

That should cure your woes.

Would you mind sharing your system specifications?

BTW, if you have heard, yes I am 'that' Lordred.

Re: Steam, Automation and corruption

share sys specs no prob, its a crappy laptop, so here goes the horror

the lap top is a Packard Bell EasyNote LM

intel I5 460M
Vid card.. a super crappy ATI Radeon M HD 5650 1GB
HDD 750GB
4 GB DDR3 Memory

it struggles with MWO, and passable with Automation

Re: Steam, Automation and corruption

I did re-install the SDK with the link you provided me and re-install DirectX9c and DirectX11 so seems to be ok now, thanks
