I suppose this is around the size that early aircooled VW motors were, but Porsche can get 3L+ motors in smaller cars.

Gotta hold out for flat engines I suppose.

Checked out a few things and it seems like it wasn't as much of an issue as I remembered it being.

As for the car you are having issues with I imagine it is the 1940 mini car (morris minor)?

That car has a very short rear overhang, which might be part of your problem. I tried modifying the MorphTail parameter to see if I could make it slightly better and a value of 10 seems to give some decent results, letting you put V6s and V8s larger than 2 liters.

As for the other cars, most can fit some fairly decent engines, including large I6s in many cases.

Also, for the same displacement, a V6 will actually be shorter than a V8.

Re: Open Beta [B150918]

Bug found when doing car tutorials...

---------------------------
Lua Error:
---------------------------
Step() failed!: [string "--client\functional\TrimDesignerWindowDelegat..."]:334: attempt to index field 'Tameness' (a nil value)

You can CTRL+C on this to report it.
---------------------------
Retry Cancel
---------------------------

Also the game seems to perform worse (lag between action and results displayed) than it used to. Is this because the tutorials are checking against the criteria all the time?

Wow, I totally forgot about things like the rear overhang. I was trying this in both of the early 2000s supercar bodies.

Seconded, recalculating takes about 5-10 times longer. And if I try to test track too soon after switching to the testing tab, the game hangs!

Market simulation appears to be a little slower than the rest, is the algorithm to process the competitor cars still working as intended?

Yes, there is something fishy going on with the calculation speed, we'll fix that today.

Re: Open Beta [B150918]

This latest build still has the scenario issue, and the engine manager still says "Economy" instead of "Efficiency". It did update to "B150922", but it's not acting any different as far as I can tell.

Re: Open Beta [B150918]

Engine Designer still says "Economy" instead of "Efficiency" for me with this build, and I am still having issues with some of my scenarios.

I get this error when clicking on the I4 scenario button for example:
  Code:
tolua++ dbcall failed!: [string "--SANDBOX_DATA\CEngineCalculator_PartsManagem..."]:56: attempt to index a nil value

The log shows this when that happens:
  Code:
Warning - Cannot find part: ValveCount_5_Name
Can't get VVT parts, if we don't have the valves set

Did you guys happen to change the year at which 5V DOHC is available?

Re: Open Beta [B150918]

Yeah open beta changed it to 1992, the engine should still load but you have to clear a few errors and pick 4 valve

Re: Open Beta [B150918]

This is car body bugs in B150924
60s Patario bodies (2-Door and Wagon only) remains a full pink box.
(Wagon variant of the 60s Mid-Size Sedan has issues on morphing: if I morph the upper bonnet/hood, the rear passenger roof was affected as well.)
70s Mid-Size Wedge still had a pink defect.
70s Full-Size Wedge Sedan upper boot/trunk morph also morphes the lower section of a boot/trunk little bit, unlike 2-door and hatchback-wagon variant.
80s Hatch had morphing problems on 2-Door, 3-Door Group B, 5-Door variants.
80s Executive Convertible with plastic trim had different material in the side mirror.
90s Van (Colored Bumper) had lower bonnet/hood line than others and also pink bug.
2010s Swoopy front window angle was not same as public release (shorter than B150707).

Re: Open Beta [B150918]

70SedanHuge seems to have a problem with the sedan version. While I can enlarge the fender flare in the Wagon variant of it, the Sedan will not let me adjust the rear flare.

80SWBBoxRoader, the SWBPickUp has a body defect, splitting part of the roof and windshield.

Those are the bugs I've spotted today while checking the latest patch. I may obviously have missed something, but those stood out.
