Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

Made a Van last night. Worked excellently.
Saved went out for a drive, came home and tried to reopen. Comes up with error:
tolua++ dbcall failed!: [string "--SANDBOX_DATA\CCarCalculator_IO.lua..."]:518: attempt to index field 'Body' (a nil value)

But I think I figured out where this error and the last one I reported are coming from.
A good deal of the missing fixtures on the ThunderCougarFalconBird, and the Van body I used for BigMcLargeHuge UltraVan are workshop elements. And as long as I didn't scroll off of them (IE load a different car or save and exit) the game worked fine. However when I tried to reload, it can't seem to load any Workshop content related items.
Going to try producing a car with no workshop elements and see how that goes.

Will report back.

Truly,
Tex

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

Aha!
I was right.
Made a car with no workshop items, Reloads with all fixtures, does not give any errors.
Looks like the program can't reload workshop items after exiting.

Edit:
However I did notice that the rear Offset doubled after saving, despite already being at the max value. Clicking upwards or downwards at that value immediately lowers it back to the maximum value of 30 mm (not 60 mm, which looks dumb anyway.)

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

Game worked fine aside from the grainy garage before the update. Now my game locks up and shuts off and when I do start a build and it by chance makes it to the engine building portion, it locks up and the engine does not show on the screen, it is EXTREMELY frustrating.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

The most important problems in my opinion:

1 The worst is error that was written above by LilRedRhyder. It makes game completely unplayable. I have one more variant of this:
tolua++ dbcall failed!: [string "--SANDBOX_DATA\CCarCalculator_Suspension.lua..."]:282: attempt to index field 'FrontSuspension' (a nil value)

2 Trims years:
- Self Changing car/trim years. Example: When I load car from family ’70, model ’75 it shows that this model is ‘70
- It is possible to make car in 1940 and give it engine from 2015. I think that it shouldn’t be possible to use engine that will be design 75 years later
- When the engine is from different year than car, after loading it changes whole car year to engine year.

3 What is most enjoying for me since applying new flow, it is engine sizes. It shouldn’t be like this that the smallest and the biggest member of family is the same size. It is obvious that I want to make engine smaller to fit it to smaller car, but I can’t, so I need to make new family that is completely nonsense.

4 Can You add available wheel size maker in model morphing tab? Because when I make family It shows what size of wheels my fender can cover, but when making model it doesn’t.

5 Why wheel parameters are self-changing? Sometimes when I change width it change offset what is annoying. And after finishing model and reloading it, I see that offset changes. And another thing: now changing offset is available by 20mm not by 10mm like was before. So we can set only 20, 40, 60, 80… Was it necessary? Still, sometimes when offset adjust to width it can be 10, so we now have regulation 10, 30, 50, 70… It is all unnecessary complicated. Can it work just like before?

6 I far as I remember You always make technology available in year when it begun series production. So following Wikipedia: “The first series production V6 was introduced by Lancia in 1950 with the Lancia Aurelia […]”. It looks like V6 Shouldn’t be available in the game before 1950.

7 And again, from the first version I had: In some point of the game (usually when clicking new engine family during car building) it starts crazy lagging. Mouse clicking and cursor moving is delayed about 1 second; and sound is “shattered”. To fix it I call windows manager list and get back to game.

It's meant that one eniginefamily is made off one singel mould, so one outer shape but than other bores and inner parts. But i encounter an other problem there: a bigger bore should mean less engineweight because you drill more material away but it's not. So in one Family with an 2L and an 1.6L engine the 2L is by now havier than the 1.6L with doesn't make sense.

Offset reduces if you're putting bigger Tires an than the fenders support so that tires don't stare out off your fender.

btw my Problem: i cant export Models. Export-button simply does nothing but showing a window with missing Text.
wich is anoing bacause i want to participate an communitychallange.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

UMGaming, this error is due that you doesn't have (In this case, the Pleb IX35 Grille pack) a modpack installed that had the model that you will open.

I made a car model as seen in the screenshot, and after I wanted to go the pointed out tab, this error occurred. And it keeps coming back.

@jagermeister: are you using any modded grilles with the car? Never seen that error/behavior before. Does it do that for all cars or just this one in particular?

I had that same "The Goggles, They Do Nothin'!" error myself, earlier tonight. Can you, or anyone else please tell me how this would be fixed? This sounds like a fairly serious issue, and I've downloaded every single mod that's available from the workshop(to a file), and yet, nothing about a IX35 Grille Pack shows up anywhere.

Edit: Apologies for the mistake! I somehow managed to overlook the files the first couple of times I searched. I've since been able to find & uninstall them, which fixed the problem. 8-)

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

Hi Killrob, no mods at all and fresh install. It does it for this vehicle and setup in particular. I managed to made a V6 2.3 engine without any problems. Just for this 1.6 pinto engine I made. It kept doing it.

edit:// I deleted the game and installed it from Steam. Hoping that this new and fresh install will be more stable. Probably had something to do with some corrupt files, I hope.

I can confirm a similar bug when installing the game yesterday, I spent a few hours making car models but when I went back to one it plain and simple wouldn't load with what seems like a corrupted file for saving the setup of the car, and then a little while later another was extremely inconsistent with the same type of lua call failure - the one that doesn't show up at all being unable to load Body and the inconsistent one having errors with FrontSuspension.

Something similar happened to me not that long ago, though the errors were more consistent; unfortunately, IIRC, the game just stopped working after it tried to load the corrupted model. :|

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Bug Reports

To fix IX35 Grille problem I desuscribed them and deleted them. It makes corrupted fille that do not allow to start automation.

And what about that error that crashed all saved cars?

tolua++ dbcall failed!: [string "--SANDBOX_DATA\CCarCalculator_IO.lua..."]:518: attempt to index field 'Body' (a nil value)
