Not sure what version was being talked about previously, but in the just released version 160, the Spinning Faster tutorial is still mixing up Emissions with Economy.

The Emissions should be unit less. That is the actual bug. If I get the Emissions stat to 399 it passes. It is not being checked against Economy.

Now using the 160 build update and found this:
_missing_HeadMat_AluSil_Desc

in the description box when you choose AlSi as head material

Hi !
I've downloaded the demo yesterday, and I've finished all the scenarios except the army one : haw can you get more than 80.5hp from a 750cc engine that has a max rev at 3000rpm ?
All requirements are completed, except the power : I have 22hp...
Excellent game though ;)

Hi,
nobody forces you to use a 750cc engine. :)

Hint #1: Try different valve trains and fuel systems to build a generally smaller engine. -> Space for more bore.
Hint #2: Increasing stroke does not increase engine size as the engine only scales by changing bore.

Thanks ;)
But... The engine has to be smaller than 500*420*300mm, with standard intake and flat exhaust manifold, so the maximum bore is about 50mm, which permits a maximum stroke of around 62mm... So it's about 750cc :D

Plus, the engine has to cost less than $1000, have a max rpm of 3000, run on 91 unleaded and so on... It's not insane (as said), it's just impossible

Re: A number of errors found in the updated demo.

We deliberately chose the keep the inches measure on the exhaust even when using metric, as the stepping would create numbers that don't make much sense in metric.
The warning coming up every time is a bug and will probably be fixed in the next launcher update.

Yup, almost everybody seems to use inches for exhaust sizes and wheel sizes, regardless of using metric for everything else.

For example I have 195mm wide tyres on 15" wheels, go figure :P

Re: A number of errors found in the updated demo.

BMW in the mid/late '80s used rims on the 3 series that were in metric.
Otherwise its only Bugatti Veyron and pure racing tyres that has the rims measured metric.

As for exhaust dimensions, i have seen both. 101.6mm=4" 89mm=3.5" 76.2mm=3" 63.5mm=2.5" 50.8mm=2"

Re: A number of errors found in the updated demo.

In the Oil Crisis scenario its asking for an engine with emissions less then 1.644 lbs/hph. I know its a bug where it shouldn't have a measurement unit, but does that mean it is looking for an engine that has 1.644 emissions, or 1644 emissions? I have an engine with 1375 emissions that wont pass and I don't know if thats a bug or not.

Re: A number of errors found in the updated demo.

You have to have less than 1000 emissions, sadly the game converted the value because the unit is still there, if you had used g/kWh you would only need to mentally remove the unit.
