Aesthetic Tastes, Car Buyers

Will car buyers in this game have any aesthetic tastes?
Does it matter if the car is extremely ugly?
Is the game allowing us to advertise in disparate regions where demographics are not the same? :?:

Tha main issue is: How to teach a computer what is goodlooking, what is ugly... in a objective and not subjective way.
The secondary issue: How to avoid exploit in the main issue.

Extremily difficult and prone to fail. Better avoid it.

Re: Aesthetic Tastes, Car Buyers

True, it is sad though, as we all know in real life it does matter a lot. People buy Alfa Romeo because they look nice and offer a sporty feel, not because they are so gently to their wallet or well build. There are probably cars on the market that make way more sense to buy, but still aesthetics count a lot for cars.

However, I do not see how aesthetics, which is also subjective, can be judged by the computer without becoming too biased.

Re: Aesthetic Tastes, Car Buyers

It not only is about that it would be very hard (or next to impossible) to teach a computer what is pleasing to the eye. What is worse than that is that is makes for a game that is a dick: you have a weird taste in cars? Well guess what, you'll suck at the game just because you style YOUR cars the way YOU want. That is really bad game design :P so "No." for more than just technical reasons ;)
