awards and records

could the game have a award system that could build you companies prestige like a car of the year (which is for the best alround car in terms of price practicality speed style comfort handling) and sports car of the year super-car of the year ect. for each type of car in witch your car winning could improve recognition prestige and publicity that would improve sales . and maybe a most promising car award. and this could be a good way of showing what people generally think of you and you competitors with a sort of award podium if you car comes third and you competitor comes first .

also could there be world records for the worlds fastest car ,most expensive , cheapest , most economical, slowest and best selling of all time (or a year version )

Re: awards and records

I too like this idea very much as it provides the player with some additional feedback (which is always good) and adds a nice yet not too impactful game mechanic on top of things. The "records" part of it to me sounds like a must have even - statistics are so important... to some people (like me hehe).

Re: awards and records

I like looking at statistics too. If it isn't very time-consuming task to do, could you please add ability to filter record list, so player can display only cars sold in particular region, or only certain body types, or only certain engine types, or only certain price ranges?

Re: awards and records

I like this idea too.
Perhaps you can consider some sort of "award value" for each achievement, that decreases as time passes.
For example, if one of your car is "Car of the year 1983", you gain 100 prestige for 1983, than 50 prestige for '84, 20 for '85 and no more prestige for that achievement from 1986.

Re: awards and records

^ This is good. Maybe even expand it slightly for your whole range?

So if you get "Car of the year 1983", that specific car gets 100 prestige and the rest of your fleet gets 20 prestige for '83, then that car gets 50 and the rest of your fleet gets 10 for '84, then 20/5, then 10/0.

You would have to do some tweaking to work out if these bonuses should stack or not (depending on what else is happening), but I think it would be a great addition.

Re: awards and records

I agree, awards etc would be great to have in and get a bonus from. :)
