Re: Turbo boost?

By making it smaller
By lowering cam profile
By lowering A/R ratio
By waiting for us implement non-80s turbo tech :)

Re: Turbo boost?

Last option is best option. But really, who doesn't like turbo lag? That's the whole point of a turbo. And the choo-choos.

Re: Turbo boost?

For turbo optimization I would recommend testing a variety of compressor/turbine size combinations and also with highly varying A/R. I have found that how the game works, the optimal settings are often not textbook values you would find on real production engines. To build a super-high performance turbo engine fit for a supercar I usually have roughly 5:4 size relation between compressor and turbine; and on top of that really high A/R setting. It takes a lot of optimization, but fiddling around with different combos you can find new setups that can work surprisingly well.

Re: Turbo boost?

I remember the devs saying in the smoking tire podcast that this was kinda what the real world manufacturers did.

Get a bunch of turbos from their favorite manufacturer, try 'em out and see which one works best for them.
