(you can even try re-installing the cars one by one until you find one that causes issues-too much work for me, though, as I've got over a thousand models in my stable.....)

now that you mention that I narowed it down to removing only trims and game starts

*edit seems like there was an empty model/trim car with the model with no body and trim trying to load for it cant find the engine connected to this if there is any

I guess a workaround for this is removing all trims opening the game and finding the model wich has no body then get all trims back except those connected to that model

*edit2
not related but while its on my mind partial alu seems more costly than full alu in panel materials

edit3
visual bug rear engine v12 exhaust headers seem to be placed to start on the last instead of the 1st cylinder

Uhmmm...

Building a car in 1949 and can't create a V6 engine... like... you can only create a V8 or V12...

Where dey go?

V6s were not a thing in the 40s and 50s :)

I tried building a budget off-roader. I got decent marks for the target class, but what surprised me was what classes it scored higher for competitiveness and by how much.
One factor I see is price affecting it, but on some the affordability is lower, and the desirability is also lower.

I guess it could be that it has a higher competitiveness and lower cost than the competitors in that class.

Have the minimum caps been installed?

Another thing is wouldn't a budget off-roader be more expensive than a city, or family budget car?

You seem to be using the not-samurai, which is very small, and the important stats for the city demographics are quite good in your case.

If anything, I think you are showing that body size might still have too much of an effect on price, since the competitors were probably made using one of the larger hatchback bodies.

IIRC, their costs are supposed to be balanced with engineering costs, so it might be hard to know for sure if the bigger cars are too expensive until we get the tycoon. I need to do more testing though since IIRC there were a few balance changes related to footprint.

Here is a city car based on the Fiat 128p body for reference:

The one I made with a larger body and otherwise pretty much identical everything has around 110 competitiveness in the city car demographic.
