Aluminum Head Material is available in 1950 now, but aluminum Block Material remains unavailable until 1960. Is this intentional?

Quick positive note: I like the way the new build handles shifting in the test track, with that moment of letting off the throttle. :)

My game is unplayable since last update. I get LUA errors almost in every car I try to build.

Re: Open Beta [B151127+] Feedback

I'm also getting strange .LUA errors in the latest version. Such as:

---------------------------
Lua Error:
---------------------------
tolua++ dbcall failed!: [string "--SANDBOX_DATA\CEngineCalculator_Main.lua..."]:2039: attempt to index a nil value

You can CTRL+C on this to report it.

OK

This was attempting to build an engine I've built dozens of times.

Year 1940, iron I-6 pushrod, all cast materials, 91.2mm x 85.2 mm, 7.0 CR, 37 cam, twin 1-BBL (regular) carbs, 14.0 CR, 4500 RPM limit, short cast header, 1.5" exhaust, no first muffler. When I click Baffled for the second muffler, it crashes. Replicates 100% of the time under these conditions.

Re: Open Beta [B151127+] Feedback

Bugs: un the sohc 4 valve v12, the DCOE 1 and 3 barrel carbs are missung in the engine model.

And, any year, when you build an v12 engine, and can reach more than 9500 rpm, appears a lua error.

And the supercar 00 bodies engine bays is small to put a 5-6 v12 engine

Re: Open Beta [B151127+] Feedback

Engines bug out right now if they fail due to valve float.

That's probably the cause of the majority of errors in the engine designer that you guys are reporting.

Re: Open Beta [B151127+] Feedback

I noticed that Monocoque is now available in 1951. However, the new body styles come out in 1950. I'd like to suggest making Monocoque available in 1950 so that it's the same year the new bodies become available.

Yes, it is intentional. A several of mass produced cheap car (FIAT 500C / Citroen 2CV / Renault 4 / VW Beetle) had aluminium head with steel block since late 40's/early 50's.

Why would you ever want to do it in the game though since the reliability penalty is so devastating?

Re: Open Beta [B151127+] Feedback

Quick question on a Save issue I am still having.

The computer I am on at work has redirected documents (eg: \\server\username\mydoc ) when I go in to the video settings before I start the game I see the path that automation is using to save the game (\\server\user\doc\gamesaves)

Can we change that to a local path?
I hit open and nothing happens so the game is not handling the network path right and I cannot save ANYTHING in game and get errors trying to play on this PC.

The reliability malus should be reduced. However, in real life probably it is cheaper and quicker to manufacture.

Yes, it has been reduced a lot, but also you are not getting the full picture here as the engineering portion of the game is not in yet. There will be metallurgy expert engineers in the game which lower the penalty you get from this. :)
