Are you making sure you update your body template after you have added new features?

This may be slightly off topic, but what is the difference between the 3rd and 5th tab in the car designer? The tab that looks like a headlight where u add fixtures

The 3rd tab adds fixtures to your template. Any new trim created will have those fixtures.
The 5th tab adds fixtures to that trim only, so you can add things like vents and wings to your sport trim.
Adding fixtures in the 5th tab will not add them to your template by default, so any new trim will not have them.
You can update your template to match your trim by clicking the icon that has an upward arrow above a car, I'm on my phone right now so I can't post pics.
Conversely if you update your your template your existing trims will not take those updates unless you click the icon that is a downward arrow above a car.

I ONLY use the 5th tab. I find the 3rd one to be completely useless. If I make a new trim, and edit it, it will only take an extra 2 seconds to go back and update the existing trim to match the template.

Should the material cost of mechanical injection really be about 8 times that of EFI?? Did a doubletake when I first saw that and assumed it was an error - but hey, I'm not the expert, perhaps it really is/was that expensive relative to later technology?

That needs to be the case because we don't have engineering time in the game yet. It is a very complicated system compared to the others after all, especially for its time. The price will change (lowered a lot) with the next update.
