Export Cars to Racing Sims

Hi Everyone!

Is it possible for modders to Export your own Car made in Automation to any Racing Simulation like Assetto Corsa?
I would love to drive my own Cars around the Nürburgringor other Tracks and compare it to other cars. :)

Or even an function ingame would be nice to export your Cars to Racing Simulations.

Re: Export Cars to Racing Sims

If somebody did manage to work out how to do this (which would probably require getting permission from the devs as it'd require access to source code that creates the models in the first place), supposing that licensing worked out, we would totally be throwing a shitload of money at that person's feet.

Re: Export Cars to Racing Sims

Big issue i see is that handling of the car in racing sims is hugely dependent on the suspension geometry. I don't believe anything beyond (comparatively) very simple suspension data is simulated in automation.

Engine export shouldn't be too hard though. Most sims just have a power torque curve although i know assetto corsa also takes boost into account. Not sure about rfactor2

Re: Export Cars to Racing Sims

There was an engine exporter for Beam.NG (just the power curve), but that was before the Steam version came out. At least it demonstrated it is well doable.

Re: Export Cars to Racing Sims

Thanks for your answers. :)

After i looked for the Automation engine files and Assetto Corsa Car files with a Torque curve i exported myself an high revving 2.3 V6(2000) in Assetto Corsa for the Seat Leon Cupra(2003). :D
Even if u cant export whole cars, this is alot of fun too in my opinion. Finally i can race my Engines i made in Automation.

Re: Export Cars to Racing Sims

That DOES seem like a lot of fun. Could you give us a little bit of detail on where you put what to export the torque curve etc.? This would be very helpful!

Re: Export Cars to Racing Sims

Yea, i could do a little Tutorial later..
This works 100% fine for N/A engines but im not sure on how to export Turbo engines because in Assetto Corsa you have a Engine.ini file where u can edit the Turboboost etc. itself.

Edit:
Here it is.
