Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Feedback

I think someone brought this up earlier in the thread, but I can't find the post to quote it >__<

Basically, in this version the "Choose engine" button has been removed from one of the model tabs, the idea being to use the Engine family drop down menu to choose what engine you want to use. However I have an issue where I have too many engines (more than will fit) and I can't find a way to scroll down the drop down menu.

That's a good point! We missed that, will be fixed.

IDK why I cant get this file to upload so here is a link to it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/vd5aro7cgt5wxwy/Tooltip%20info%20cut%20off%20automation.jpg?dl=0 Anyway I circled a thing I have noticed for a while now which is the words get cut off on some of the information bars. This happens on quite a few of the tabs. Anyway the changes that were made in the update seem to be working well.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Feedback

Really enjoying the Beta! MY only gripe would be, could we open up the bore/stroke differential tolerance a little? As Im unable to make a V6 F1 engine..........rules state 80mm bore, but then i can't get the stroke low enough to keep it to 1600cc! Then again, the rpm is too low for the limit too. Would be nice to have this opened up, especially for engine manufacturing in the tycoon side of the game ;)
Apart from that, 10/10, keep up the good work!

Hehe, you know that won't happen ;) the limits are crazy as they are and why they are not changed has been discussed plenty of times :) Glad you're enjoying it though!

Todays F1 v6 turbo engines dont rev much higher than 12000 rpm, just wait for the turbo v6 to be included. Or recreate an engine from IndyCar.

I've opted in. I'll be editing this post frequently.

11/10 - It's fantastic!

June 22
- No visual difference between Aluminum, AlSi, Magnesium blocks on the V6
- The quality slider for the trims has 'Tech' written all over it

June 23
- When building an engine for a car started at the 'new car' screen, the engine sound is not audible on any type of engine
- Game has a chance of crashing without error message when clicking 'Modern OHV' on the V6
- Only one type of valve cover is available for 'DOHC' + '4 Valves' when choosing the style of it on a V6 (WIP?)

Noticing that the tire width settings are acting strange. When increasing the rear tire width it is affecting the front tries width as well. Same thing happens the other way around. Just wanted to point that out.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Feedback

Thanks for working on the brake pad vs. brake fade problem so quickly.

Quick thoughts + questions on this topic:
- Does a 2LS brake design improve brake fade vs. SLS in real life? I don't know the answer myself, but currently they make no difference on brake fade in the game. It would certainly be helpful. :)
- What are your thoughts regarding the Quality slider affecting brake fade?

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Feedback

On the new v6 I cant change the style of the cover for the engine. It seems to affect all v6s and I am not sure if it is bothering other engine designs.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Feedback

There doesn't seem to be any issue with the other engine layouts.

If I had to take a guess I would say that Daffy might not have finished transferring all the covers to the V6s.

Also, don't forget that some layouts have always had only one choice of covers, like DOHC 2V.

Re: Open Beta (B150619+) Feedback

Can we by chance get the V6s added to scenarios (not their specific scenarios, I mean the general ones where you can pick between I4/6 and V8s currently)?

AmethystKT wrote:It's so nice to see V6s in the game, and you did a great job with them. My only complaint is the massive engine covers on them. It seems you're trying to replicate how real manufacturers now do this with modern cars, but I don't like it. I like seeing some pretty red valve covers! I can't complain about the rest of them, though, especially not that amazing raspiness around 6-6.5k RPM.

I agree, the Multi Point EFI and Direct Injection covers especially are too big. I don't understand how they're even fitting underneath these car's hoods.

fixtures with shared textures don't work as they aren't in the vanilla folder
