Re: Open Beta RC1 (B150626) Feedback

Game worked fine aside from the grainy garage before the update. Now my game locks up and shuts off and when I do start a build and it by chance makes it to the engine building portion, it locks up and the engine does not show on the screen, it is EXTREMELY frustrating.

What system are you running the game on? Can you post a DXdiag?

I am currently downloading the update again, hoping that it will fix it. This will be the fifth time I've done this

WOW. That's a seriously slow computer. And I thought I had the worst toaster on this forum.
The game probably isn't "Locking up" in the sense you think it is. When the game "Locks up" (Not outright crashes), It's simply loading the elements of the Engine type you chose. The reason it takes so long that it looks like it "Locks up" is well, simply due to your Computer being REALLY slow. Like, I've never seen a single core 2.2Ghz in a machine past 2006. If you want Windows to actually be properly useable, never mind play Automation, I think it's time for an upgrade.

If Windows tells you that "Automation is not responding" as if there's a fault with the program (Or any other program for that matter) It can be lying to you. I'm pretty sure Windows will only do this when it feels a program should be executing more data in a certain period of time. My computer tells me this too sometimes, and if there's no fault with the program all I have to do is wait and it will eventually come to again.

My computer has started to take it's time to load elements since the update too, but it finishes eventually. You probably just have to wait it out.
I have a Pentium Dual-Core T4500 2.3Ghz for comparison. Almost the same CPU, I just have one more core than you. And that makes all the difference.

If Automation IS outright crashing though, It's something the devs would have to help you with, I'm sure.

Re: Open Beta RC1 (B150626) Feedback

Sorry for the double post, but I'd like to report a LUA error.

---------------------------
Lua Error:
---------------------------
tolua++ dbcall failed!: [string "--SANDBOX_DATA\CCarCalculator_Suspension.lua..."]:282: attempt to index field 'FrontSuspension' (a nil value)

You can CTRL+C on this to report it.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

It was my entry for Sell on Monday, Win on Sunday. Not quite sure what has caused it.

Thank you very much for the explanation, maybe it is time for an upgrade, haha. When I meant crashing, I meant I keep getting similar messages as you did above, but alot of them, like everytime I choose an engine option, then it locks up.

Well if you're actually getting error messages, then it is in fact a bug in Automation and has nothing to do with the speed of your computer. By "Locking up" I had assumed you meant the game would become unresponsive and perhaps Windows told you it's not responding. When the game throws LUA errors it's almost positive to be a certain bug in the code. I was wrong, even though your computer is quite slow you mention the problems only started after this update.
