Pretty sure you could make a 50/50 FR car in Automation. But you'd need a small engine!

I think the original M3 had close to 50:50, that one had a "small" 2.3 I4 16v.

Powered by a 1.1L turbo I4 mated to an AWD gearbox. I know it isn't super impressive, but I made it in less than 15 minutes so......whatever.

Well, this looks like a bit more of a lark than I thought it'd be.

Challenge accepted.

Re: how to get 50/50 weight distribution

oh, I didn't mean it that way! (But I was on the phone and it's always a pain in the ass to elaborate.)

What I meant was, I hadn't thought about it much and guessed that any car in Automation with a 50:50 distribution would have an absurdly small engine. However, your car actually appears a lot more practical than I had first envisaged, so now all that remains to be seen is whether one could ever produce a car in Automation that made sense with a 50:50 distribution...

Re: how to get 50/50 weight distribution

It's not hard to do. Pick premium trim or something like that to act as counter weight to engine in front, heavier panels/chassis also helps (though there are no problems with using aluminium panels or something lighter like that). AWD is more front heavy than FR but you definitely can do it both ways (I'm playing in sandbox as I write it and I just did quick rough 50/50 AWD small sedan with 3,4l inline 6, switching it to FR makes it 49.1/50.9). I'm not sure what's this about small engines though, I made 50/50 cars with 4l+ engines. My usual problem with cars like this is that there is 50+% weight on rear (which isn't actually a problem, especially for rear wheel drive cars, but hey if it's supposed to be 50/50 I can always make engine bigger for more power). It's worth noting that car shape has effect on this, big boot will put more weight on the back of your car (there is no need to abuse this though, there is more than enough tools to balance weight of your car, whatever shape you prefer from aesthetic point of view). Anyway once you are close to that 50/50 you can fine tune it further with brake sizes. Also the newer the car the easier it's to get that 50/50, that's because cars generally get heavier and as you add years that engine becomes smaller % of total car weight.
