Don't think such are allowed in F1. That's why they use pneumatic.

Yes! That's it of course :) *brainfart*
Anyway, same conclusion: it is useless to get the bore & stroke to what the F1 engines have if you don't have pneumatic valves :P

lolzor wrote:Well, yeah.. i tried everything, but i just can't get around it and it's irritating me to no end. I am purposely trying to get an oversquare engine (yes, with the 2008-2013 F1 engine size specifications) but i'm having no luck anywhere. This ratio lock should really, really be optional.
I would try looking into the lua files to try and find a workaround, except
1. All of the lua is bytecode
2. All lua decompilers i can find have broken links and nobody cares anymore

Kind of off-topic, but speaking of the Lua stuff:
As far as I could tell it's either
a) something custom or encrypted-like, or
b) Lua decompilers that I've had no trouble with before decided this is something totally different
I'm going with a.
(I also saw that they're using LuaJIT, but the files won't run through a LuaJIT decompiler either.)

I didn't care enough to pursue this further, I was more interested in if they had any intentions of Lua modding support or if it would be trivial to do mods in a hard-coded fashion. Considering that there's a "hashes.lua", and the zip file with the scripts in them has something... different about it, I would assume they've taken steps to not only prevent modifications to the core lua code but also prevent people from even seeing it (I would certainly consider the calculations and stuff they use something important to keep to themselves). I could dig further and maybe figure out how to get at it, but the effort required to do so isn't worth it. Plus, if they don't want people looking at it, I don't want people looking at it either; they haven't done anything to tick me off like other games with 'encrypted' lua files have...

Re: Auto Bore/Stroke adjustment??

Firstly, select the desired bore, and the min. stroke setting that doesn't change the bore.

Seconly, go to the next tab, and decrease the stroke.
