a few questions

Hey guys

First: my english is bad. I'm from switzerland and only have my "school-english" that i learned during looking out the window
I know, the developers are in hollyday but it doesn't hurts if the answer need his time

So let's start:
If i had an engine in the futured game, that i develop for example at 1970 and after a couple of years, let's take 1974, i build a new trim of the engine but the engines Family is still from 1970, what does that mean for me? does i still save developmenttime and costs for this trim because not the whole Family had to be revised?

The same question for a new car-trim. for the same range of years, i take an older car-Family and make a new trim. that will mean i will not have to develop new suspensions and all the other stuff from a Family but maybe use new and actual Tools in my factory. this way i can produce at the same Quality. does the game accept this? does i save time and Money?

to Keep the Quality on top, will i be able to buy new toolingstuff for my factory so i can build a car over many years without Quality-issues?

is there a way for some marketexploration? do i know what type of car the market Needs and how much cars the market Needs in a year? can i see what car my competitioners are build to make my one better?

in the open beta, i can produce more cars with a type of engines as i build the engine himself. does the game recognize how many engines i Need for my production?

in the final game, can i buy engines for a extra cost so i dont have to develop them self?

can i share parts? that mean, i use the same Transmission in two cars so i save time and Money and be able to make parts like the Transmission to standard-parts (for example, an Manual 5-speed Transmission for 300NM and a fix Ratio in 2 different cars = 1 time to develop)

i hope you can read and understand what i mean. i don't know how bad my english and explanations are

thx for read

Yes, when the game is finished, the development of new variants within the same engine family will have reduced development costs compared to a brand new engine.

Again Yes, when finished the game will support this

to Keep the Quality on top, will i be able to buy new toolingstuff for my factory so i can build a car over many years without Quality-issues?

An interesting question, unfortunately I do not know the answer

is there a way for some marketexploration? do i know what type of car the market Needs and how much cars the market Needs in a year? can i see what car my competitioners are build to make my one better?

This is planned

in the open beta, i can produce more cars with a type of engines as i build the engine himself. does the game recognize how many engines i Need for my production?

From my observations it does not appear to do so yet, but I believe it will eventually

in the final game, can i buy engines for a extra cost so i dont have to develop them self?

This is also planned, as is selling your own designs to other manufacturers

so thanks for the quick answers. i'm sure, this would be a super Tycoon game if ist finished.

hows about the standard-parts like the Transmission in my example? does anybody knows something about it?

At the start of the game, the developers thought about a separate "transmission editor" but, during the tests, it was more of a nuisance than a entertaining part. So they scrapped it for the sake of the gameplay.

I have no idea if keep the exact same values in the transmission tab between two trims, will not increase a price of re engineering the transmission.

Ok, i hope they will do something in this direction.

A new question:
if i build a car in the cardesigner, i see the reliability of my car or engine and final in combination (both, car with engine). but what happen when i take a look in the factory an optimise the production to increase Quality, can i see a nother final-reliability of my car? or will that come in the final game?

You would see the effects of increased production quality in the reliability of the trim as a whole, yes. Currently that is not implemented yet though.

ok, thx for the infos

not in topic but i wish that in future you are interested in a DLC for a new starttime around 1925. i like the cars from then. and if not. i like the game anyway :-)

That wouldn't work with the game design of Automation unless we leave out everything that made that era interesting (i.e. the experimentation with inferior engine / car concepts).
